Pressure Vessel Safety (Bulletin Number: 013-PBCV-002)

The sleeve bolt is a critical component of a closed vessel design where its primary function is to hold the lamp holder and retain a quartz lamp sleeve within the chamber during all operating conditions. In the unlikely event that a sleeve breakage occurs and the sleeve bolt nut is not properly secured, it is possible that the lamp, lamp holder, water and possibly particulate located in the reactor could be expelled.
